What are the requirements for PhilmStrip

you just need PHP and MySQL on your server.

This is for the slide show management software.

The slide show is rendered using the flash. so the clients should have flash plugins.

Is anything related to flash required on server? like flash communication server

No.

There is no need of flash communication server. The flash is used only to display the show on the client, so client requires the flash plugin. The animation data is managed and fed by PHP and MySQL.

How to View the list of existing slide shows

When you log in using your username and password, you will see the 'List of slide shows' page. In this page you can see the list of all the existing slide shows.

How to Create new slide show

In the 'List of slide shows' page, click on the 'Add' button to add new slide show. You will see the 'Add slide show' page. Here you have to fill in the requirements of your slide show:

• Slide box name : The name you want to give to your slide show.
• Delay seconds : The delay you want to add between different slides of your slides show. Mention the delay in seconds.
• Width : The width of your slides. Mention the width in pixels.
• Height : The height of your slides. Mention the height in pixels.
• Only text : Check this box if you want your slide show to have only text and no images.
• Load all images in start: Check this box if you want to load all the images in start.It is recommended that if you have too many images then you dont use the "load all" feature because it will increase the time it takes to start the slide show, as it will have to load all the images.
• Play Controls : Choose this option if you want to control the slide show yourself. If you don't choose this option the slide show is automatic.

  After filling in all these details press the 'Save' button to save the newly created slide show.

How to View the list of existing slides in a particular slide show:

In the 'List of slide Shows' page, click on the 'slides', link corresponding to the slide show for which you want to view the slides. You will see a page 'List of slides' showing the existing slides in the slide show.

How to Add new slides to the existing slide shows

In the 'List of slides' page just click on the 'Add button' to add new slides. You will see 'Add slide entry' page. Fill in the required information for the slide entry.

• Entry Image : Specify the correct path of the image that you want to include in your slide show or simply press the browse button to browse the image from the right path.
• Entry Text : Write the text you want to add in the slide show in the text box provided.
• Text color : Choose an appropriate color for the text by clicking on the color pallete and choosing the color of your choice.
• Text size : Give the size of the text.
• Text font : Choose any one of the 11 fonts available for your text.
• Background color : Choose an appropriate color for the background by clicking on the color pallete and choosing the color you want.
• Animation : Choose any one of the 19 animations provided to add desired effects to your slide show
• Text style : Choose the text style you want i.e. Bold and Italic.

After filling in these details press the 'save' button to save the newly added slide entry.

How to Delete slides from a slide show

In the 'List of slides' page showing the existing slides in the slide show, Check the slide you want to delete and click on 'delete' button. The slide will be deleted from the slide show.

How to Delete an existing slide show

In the 'List of slide shows' page check the slide show you want to delete and click on the 'Delete' button to delete that slide show. The slide show will be deleted.

How to make some changes in an existing slide show

In the 'List of slide shows' page click on the slide show name to which you want to make changes. You will see 'edit slide show' page where you can make any changes you want to make and press 'save' to save the changes.

How to make some changes in the slide entry

In the 'List of slides' page, click on the image file name to which you want to make changes. You will see 'Edit slide entry' page where you can make the changes you want and press 'save'button to save the changes.

Following are the steps to install PhilmStrip

• Extract the zip and load into your server in a directory
• Create a database in MySQL.
• Point your browser to install.php
• Fill in the required details and press submit button.

Do i need to update something on my server everytime i want to change the slide show

No, philmstrip is not like other slide show creators which will require you to re-generate the complete slide show everytime you add a new picture, and then upoad it on to your server.

In PhilmStrip you just need to go to the control panel and add the image to your slide show.
